Scotland / Ireland

Destination Scotland / Ireland

While Scotland and Ireland are not Arctic Destinations, the North Sea with its rugged coastline offers a great variety of Marine wildlife similar to what you might find in the Arctic regions. Home to an abundance of bird life including puffins, northern fulmars, murres, storm petrels, kittiwakes, and more. There may be encounters with seals, dolphins, sharks and whales. Scotland and Ireland are rich in Gaelic history and Nordic culture. The long hours of daylight are great for wildlife and landscape photography. Some itineraries begin in Scotland and then venture North to the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard.
